Description

Flora Young is a professional Event and Showjump rider based in Leicestershire. Currently competing at CCI-L 4* and 1.40 showjumping.

Flora has worked with horses full time since she was 16, firstly with former Olympic Eventer Tiny Clapham, and then with International dressage judge Andrew Fletcher.

Flora recognised at an early age that she wished to pursue a career in the sport of eventing and Showjumping, a path that would combine her talent and passion. Fully aware of the challenges that such a decision raises, she has worked diligently to establish a foothold in these highly competitive fields. Flora’s challenge is to bring on her exciting young horses and add to her team in order to establish a strong foundation for a successful and competitive career at the highest levels of the sport.

Flora is now looking for another person to join her fabulous dedicated team to assist with all yard duties with the opportunity to ride for a competent and confident person.

You need to have a passion for horses, able to get the best from them and have a determination to excel at all you do.

You will be supported by a brilliant, friendly team who can support you to achieve your goals.

This position would suit someone who is passionate and keen to work on a competition yard and be fully immersed in the show jumping and eventing equine world!

Due to the location the apprentice should be able to drive however, accommodation is available as is livery for own horse.

  • Must have horse care experience as not possible to take on inexperienced learners due to the nature of the horses.
  • Team player with good communication
  • Takes initiative to completing tasks on own and unprompted
  • Organised, neat and tidy and takes pride.

GCSE Level 4/ Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent.

  • Must have a love for horses and be keen to learn.
  • You will be friendly and outgoing.
  • Honest, reliable and trustworthy

Full time employment possible upon completion of the apprenticeship or progression to a higher level apprenticeship.

An interest in the eventing and or showjumping would be beneficial to get the most from this position but not essential as you will learn on the job Due to location, must be able to drive although accommodation may be available Livery possible for own horse
