Description

The post involves working within the Midlands finance team, ensuring that transactions are processed in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with Oasis financial policies.

Areas of responsibility will include:

  • Purchase ledger
  • Sales ledger
  • Bank account
  • Other balance sheet accounts e.g. prepayments/accruals
  • Payroll related processing/reconciliations
  • Nominal adjustments & journal posting.

Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Level 2

This level is ideal for existing staff or new talent in accounting and finance. Their work could include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct, recording of cash and data entry.

Learners will complete the mandatory AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. The Certificate in Accounting comprises of four exams and an End Point Assessment. You must successfully complete the following:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping (ITBK)

  • Principles of Bookkeeping Control (POBC)

  • Principles of Costing (PCTN)

  • Business Environment (BESY)

  • EPA - In Tray exercise

Training will be provided by attending either face-to-face classroom based lessons, Live Online sessions or OnDemand. An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate 20% of your time towards it.

There will be opportunity for permanent employment after the completion of the apprenticeship programme in the capacity of Finance Assistant and future progression within the Midlands Finance team initially to Finance Officer post but also beyond.

Salary:

Depending on age

1st year - 16-17yrs £8658.

1st year – 18yrs+ £9,620.


2nd year – 16-17yrs £8658.

2nd year – 18yrs £9620.

2nd year – 19-20 yrs £12,410.

2nd year -21-24yrs £15,777.

2nd year – 25yrs+ £16,777.
