Description

The post holder will work co-operatively as part of the IT Department and deliver support and solutions direct to end users across the school site to ensure the smooth running of the IT infrastructure.

Supporting the IT Department

1. To work cooperatively with the IT Department in executing the department business plan.

2. Assisting the whole school end users where required with problem solving and IT solutions to maximise effectiveness.

3. To support all IT functions.

4. To protect, nurture and enhance the Stover brand and ensure our IT systems are effective, secure, and operationally efficient.

5. Co-ordinate with the IT manager on effective management of all hardware on site.

Core Activities

1. To work under the direction of IT manager and Head of Operations and / or the Bursar to co-ordinate and manage Stover IT hardware to ensure that all runs smoothly.

2. To cover duties performed by the IT Manager as and when required to ensure continuity and smooth running of all systems and liaise where necessary with our IT partners.

Any other duties commensurate with the level of the post.

The Job Description forms the basic requirements of the post and can be updated when required by the Head Teacher in liaison with the staff concerned.

The post holder is also responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom he/she comes into contact with. He/she will be expected to adhere to and ensure compliance with the school’s Child Protection Policy Statement at all times.

If in the course of carrying out the duties of the post the post holder becomes aware of any actual or potential risks to the safety or welfare or children in the school he/she must report any concerns to the school’s Designated Safeguarding Officer, the Senior Teacher (Pastoral) or the Head of Stover Preparatory School, as appropriate.

  • GCSE Maths & English at Level 4/C or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)

One day a week to be spent at Exeter College working towards:

• Level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship

End point assessment

• If required: Functional Skills (English, Maths & IT)

This Apprenticeship is recognised for entry onto the register of IT Technicians, confirming ISFA Level 3 Professional Competency.

Deputising for the IT Manager in all school matters IT. Help to formalise longer term IT plans and processes.
