We are excited to be looking for a Town Planning Apprentice based in
Birmingham! You will work towards achieving a Level 7 Degree
qualification in Town Planning.
About
the role
The
successful individual will be working towards a Chartered Town Planner
Level 7 Degree Apprenticeship post graduate degree qualification. This
will be taught as a 1 day release per week for a duration of 2 years.
Working
as part of the Planning team to deliver a range of planning and environmental
projects. This will include working alongside other disciplines as part of
multi-disciplinary teams.
Key
responsibilities
·
Preparing
and reviewing planning deliverables such as appraisals, planning applications
and planning policy non-core planning activities such as consents
management and environmental coordination
·
Identifying
potential health and safety hazards of specific projects
·
Building
strong relationships with our existing internal and external client base
·
Resolve
design and development problems using creative and logical methods
·
Financial
monitoring of projects, document control, progress reporting and ad hoc project
management tasks
On
completion of the course the successful individual would qualify to undertake
the Royal Town Planning Institute’s gateway and end point assessment to become
a chartered town planner.

Desirable Skills & Characteristics:

Strong numeracy skills

Confident communication skills both written and verbal

Experience of using MS office packages; particularly Microsoft Excel

Able to demonstrate a keen interest in a career in Project Management
within the engineering & construction environment
Essential:
· BA/BSc in Geography
· 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics
· 3 A ‘level’s or equivalent qualifications
