Description
The role of an Engineer in food processing can be hugely varied and no two days are the same. Tasks include carrying out both electrical and mechanical work such as planned maintenance activity, reacting to breakdowns, finding out and eliminating the root-cause of problems and working on continuous improvement projects.
1. Responsible for the completion of planned preventative maintenance. 2. Responsible for completing unplanned maintenance and filling out of all relevant paperwork 3. Responsible for utilising the CMMS system for all work carried out to ensure historical data can be accessed by supervisors for KPIs and downtime reduction. 4. To drive overall factory performance through continuous improvement ideas 5. To ensure standards of quality, food safety, hygiene and housekeeping are maintained within their area appropriate to a quality food manufacturer. 6. To represent the Company in a professional manner with both internal & external customers. 7. Help solve problems and make suggestions for improvements, so that better ways of doing tasks are identified and implemented. 8. Communicate and co-operate with other people in order to achieve department and organisational goals. 9. Comply with all health and safety requirements to ensure a safe working environment.

Experience of using hand tools Problem solving Mechanical or electrical knowledge IT literate
5 x GCSE at grade 6 and above or equivalent
You will initially work towards a level 2 Engineering Operative apprenticeship standard with Forthglade and Exeter College 2 days per week in term time.
