Description
The book-keeping and
accounts trainee role will entail:
- Processing of client invoices.
- Bank
entries for limited company or sole trade/partnership.
- Book-keeping clients onto
cloud-based book-keeping software.
- Preparing full balance sheet reconciliations for these clients as part of month
and year end procedures.
- Preparing and submitting
company VAT Returns to HMRC in accordance with the Making Tax Digital regime.
- Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies.
- Year end accounts
for sole traders and partnerships - These may be prepared from prime records,
although many will utilise computerised book-keeping packages such as QuickBooks and Xero. The opportunity to deal with company
secretarial matters and prepare draft corporation tax computations.
At some stage in the future
it may be possible for the apprentice to receive audit experience although this
cannot be guaranteed. The role will predominantly be office based, although
some work at client’s premises may be required on an occasional basis. General
office duties such as booking in client records and archiving of old files will
also form part of the role.

Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Level 3.
This level is ideal for existing staff or new talent in an accounting or finance role. Their work could include assisting in the day to day financial activities such as data entry to month end management accounts and/or year-end financial statements.
You will be studying the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting. This level will encourage you to master more complex accounting principles in both Bookkeeping and Management Accounting. You will study 5 units:
Financial Accounting; Preparing Financial Statements (FAPS).
Management Accounting Techniques (MATS).
Tax Processes for Business (TPFB).
Business Awareness (BUAW).
Advanced Synoptic Assessment (ADSY) which forms part of your End Point Assessment.
Training will be provided by attending either face-to-face classroom based lessons, Live Online sessions or OnDemand. An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate 20% of your time towards it.

(ICAEW) and ACCA training office and can offer progression onto these qualifications

can be made available to trainees wishing to gain experience in this field.

Salary:
- £6.83 per hour during the first year of the
apprenticeship and follow relevant NMW age based requirements subsequently.
Salary likely to increase beyond NMW rates for good trainees.
