Description
Duties will include:
- Management of monthly clients.
- To provide these clients with a full range of accounts, VAT and taxation services.
- Prepare the annual accounts of limited and non-limited company status clients and input the data into Iris.
- Produce final draft accounts and tax computations for review.
- To assist with the personal tax department as and when required.
- To organise workload to ensure most efficient use of time.
- Plan and delegate work to ensure efficient production of accounts, monthly spreadsheets and VAT returns.
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with our systems.
- Dealing with correspondence.
- Ensure all deadline dates are monitored to avoid clients being fined or charged interest/penalties.
- To contribute to our continuous improvement of systems through own experience and also to participate in introducing new systems.
- To keep up to date with legislation and regulations to enable you to give quality advice to our clients.
- Notify clients of any deficiencies in their records and assist clients to improve their book-keeping systems.

- High level of IT skills and proficient in Word, Excel.
- Maths and English to a good standard.

Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Level 3
This level is ideal for existing staff or new talent in an accounting or finance role. Their work could include assisting in the day to day financial activities such as data entry to month end management accounts and/or year-end financial statements.
You will be studying the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting. This level will encourage you to master more complex accounting principles in both Bookkeeping and Management Accounting. You will study 5 units:
- Financial Accounting; Preparing Financial Statements (FAPS).
- Management Accounting Techniques (MATS).
- Tax Processes for Business (TPFB).
- Business Awareness (BUAW).
- Advanced Synoptic Assessment (ADSY) which forms part of your End Point Assessment.
Training will be provided by attending either face-to-face classroom based lessons, Live Online sessions or OnDemand. An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate 20% of your time towards it.
