Description
- Assist the surveyor on-site at client premises with calculating
land and/or building measurements and carry out drainage investigations.
- Use latest surveying technology to assist the surveyor by
operating the Total Station (Theodolite) and GPS.
- Learn to use survey software such as N4ce and AutoCAD in order to
produce technical drawings.
- Maintain the surveyor’s kit before and after jobs i.e. ensure
batteries are fully charged
- Load information onto the system and export to AutoCAD
- Office time will be used to learn how to use software such as
n4ce, AutoCAD and REVIT and to assist the surveyor in producing technical
drawings
- General administrative tasks such as filing, scanning and
photocopying
- Outdoor and often site based work involving rough terrain,
carrying equipment safely and work in all weather conditions.

GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent is
preferred. Candidates will be assessed at interview and on entry onto the
programme.
SURVEYING TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP STANDARD LEVEL 3.
The apprenticeship will be delivered by our provider Learning
Skills Partnership via blended learning, combining on line lectures and regular
face to face visits. During your apprenticeship, as well as learning and
developing your academic knowledge.

also be honest, reliable and willing to learn
This
apprenticeship programme is very much the start of an exciting career in the
industry with wide ranging prospects which may span a number of roles.
Employment would be full time and the normal working hours would
be a minimum of 8 hours per day, with 1 hour for lunch. Site hours will be
flexible to accommodate site and weather conditions and daylight hours as
necessary. Travel time to and from site is not normally considered to be part
of working hours. In this instance, overtime payments can be agreed with
management. For example, typically, surveyors prefer an early morning start to
miss rush hour traffic.
