You will develop a range of skills through working, training and supporting the Bookkeeper in delivering the finance function for Oxbridge and ensuring that effective systems and processes are in place.

Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • To enable sound financial control and the production of financial information for use both internally and external.
  • Inputting data onto the accounting software
  • Undertaking all tasks in accordance with charity policies and procedures
  • Undertaking other duties appropriate to the job as may be required from time to time
  • Becoming familiar with safeguarding, equal opportunities, health and safety and GDPR regulations, ensuring they are adhered to at all times
  • Assisting in the compilation of the end of year audit file and liaison with external auditors
  • Supporting the production of management accounts
  • Liaising with all internal and external stakeholders including assisting credit control
  • Preparing bank analyses and other basic reconciliations (VAT, PAYE etc.) seeking support as required
  • Following standard monthly accounting processes

  • Good communication skills with ability to communicate with others effectively in writing, via telephone and face-to-face
  • Experience of ICT programmes to a good level of competence including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Attention to detail

  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent standard with at least 5 x GCSE passes grade 5 – 9 (A* - B) including English and Maths

  • 2 x A-Levels or their equivalent in L2 AAT

Assistant Accountant Level 3 apprenticeship standard

  • Working week: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm
  • Salary maybe higher depending on age and experience.
