Description
Have you ever thought you could be a great engineer? Have you always liked fixing things and figuring out how they work? If so, then AWE would love you to join the team and they'll support you to develop the skills to work on the UK's nuclear deterrent - helping AWE keep our country safe and secure.
This apprenticeship gives you a chance to earn while you learn, with qualified and experienced trainers helping to build your core engineering knowledge. As a qualified engineering operative, you will be an integral part of the asset maintenance team, helping to ensure plants and equipment are safe and ready to use. Once your training is complete, you will have experience in maintenance planning, diagnostic and fault-finding techniques, specific safe working practises, maintenance procedures, and environmental regulations that need to be observed.

Your new skills will include:
- fault location on appropriate equipment using suitable maintenance diagnostic techniques,
- maintenance activities in line with work instructions,
- testing maintained equipment in accordance with the test schedule or defined test procedure,
- following appropriate completion activities,
- and restoring equipment to service by replacing or repairing components.
