Description

Position available for a hardworking Level 2 Equine Apprentice as stable hand/groom in a busy, friendly riding school with dressage and show jumping.

Duties will include all aspects of the yard activities. The day is broken up into two split sections: start time at 8am until 1pm and then from 3pm until 6pm. The staff may stay at the yard for their break, where there are kitchen facilities available.

General Yard Duties;

  • Mucking out
  • Turn out
  • Grooming
  • Tacking up
  • Leading during lessons, assisting during lessons as instructed
  • Possible exercising horses
  • Field management
  • Package could include share on a horse or inclusion in riding lessons

For this role, experience with horses is essential.
You must be willing to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English if you do not hold the GCSE's in grade 4/C or above.
Alongside the employer Haddon Training Ltd will provide the educational side of the apprenticeship, but all training is completed at the employers premises.
The successful candidate will need to be hardworking and keen to succeed within the equine industry.
For the right candidate, there is the possibility of progressing on to the level 3 equine apprenticeship upon successful completion of the level 2.
No accommodation is available on site so you must be able to make your own way reliably to to and from the stable each day.

No livery available for you to bring your own horse.
