Sporting Your Futures was formed to create positive change in the community through sport and social activities by being inclusive of all backgrounds in the community. We use sport as a tool to engage Black, Asian and ethnic minority communities (BAME) and facilitate positive change.
We want to explore more opportunities to use physical activity as a tool to improve diversity, mental health, social action, cohesion, employability and the health and wellbeing of local communities. Due to the growth of the organisation, we are looking to recruit several Male and Female coaches interested in sport to support our sport and physical activity sessions to a range of audiences to improve their physical, mental and social wellbeing within the most deprived and disadvantaged communities in the West Midlands.
Roles and Responsibilities
- To plan, deliver and evaluate sports coaching sessions for young people aged between 5-16 in a variety of settings (schools, community sport initiatives, youth clubs and football specific projects).
- To create a supportive environment where participants can improve their skills and enjoy their sport.
- To be responsible and have a duty of care for the health and safety of participants.
- The possibility of working across different programmes for Sporting Your Futures as an integral member of the organisation to support the development of community sports projects.
The Sport Coach and social media apprentice has an important role to play in improving the health and wellbeing of children, families and communities by delivering fun, inclusive and engaging activities that help to bring about a change in physical activity habits.
Apprentices will engage with training that will develop and enhance their coaching skills and equip them to work in a variety of environments, with a range of stakeholders and work effectively in partnership with other organisations. In addition to this, the apprentices will receive support to identify and access external funding streams for projects within the local community. There will also be a unique opportunity for candidates to engage with training that will develop and enhance their classroom practice/teaching skills (with the opportunity to build up to HLTA level practice).
This is an excellent opportunity for a flexible, creative and committed individual to join our happy, vibrant and skilful team.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
At Sporting Your Futures you will work towards your Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship Qualification over the course of 12-18 Months.
