Description

As a Care Assistant Apprentice with Guild Care, you will be responsible for using your creativity to engage with others, spreading happiness, and working with compassion. Alongside this, you will will be working towards an Adult Care Worker Level 2 apprenticeship, over the course of 15 months.

Job Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to work as an integral member of the care team, under the guidance of the registered nurse and senior care staff. The aim is to provide compassionate and dignified care to residents while respecting their personal choices and dignity. The role involves assisting in the implementation and development of care plans that meet the individual's personal and social care needs, while promoting independence, in line with Guild Care's Assessment and Care Planning guidelines.

Main Duties:

- Assist residents with dressing, bathing, toileting, and other daily personal care activities as required.

- Provide care to residents who are temporarily ill with either chronic or acute conditions, under the guidance of a senior staff member or a registered nurse.

- Assist in caring for residents who require high levels of care due to their health conditions.

- To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of residents through talking to them, taking them out, involving them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreation.

- To make and change beds, tidy rooms, empty commodes and undertake some domestic duties as required.

- To inspect and launder residents' clothing if required.

- To set tables and trays, serve meals, assist residents that need help with eating, wash up, tidy, and clear the dining room as required.

- To answer call bells, the front door, telephone and to greet visitors.

- To work within the context of Guild Care's policies and procedures at all times.

- To make verbal and written reports in the context of care planning, handovers and other meetings as required.

- To attend training sessions, meetings, seminars, etc. as required including registering and working towards a QCF.

- To be a role model for all staff in good care practice and communication with residents and colleagues.
