Commercial Operations team is a team within Interconnectors responsible for the technology and operations that underpin our commercial processes. The scope of the team covers the commercial operations of the IFA, IFA2, North Sea Link and Viking Link electricity interconnectors.

Working with our international partners, you'll help to define and implement improvements to our systems and processes to ensure they meet and exceed our customers’ expectations and get good exposure to projects that we run.

Your responsibilities will cover a range of functions, including administration of our systems, reporting, dashboard creation, process improvement, project administration and other areas. This will give you great exposure to different disciplines and fields, including commercial operations, IT systems and project management.

This placement is ideal for someone looking to gain practical experience, develop their skills, and establish a foundation for a career in operations within the energy sector. About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our Commercial Operations team at National Grid Ventures for a 12-month Industrial Placement. If you have moderate Excel skills, are able to work to deadlines, and enjoy teamwork, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

During your placement, you will develop skills in commercial operations, reporting, and stakeholder management, as well as gain an understanding of project and systems management principles. You will also become proficient in various systems and software including SharePoint, PowerPoint, and other systems we use.

This role is designed for someone eager to learn and ready to contribute to a dynamic team. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

What you'll need

You'll need to achieve a 2.1 in the 1st year of your degree and you’ll need to be eager to apply your knowledge in a real-world setting.

You’ll also ideally have a valid full UK Driving License.

Location

This role is based in Warwick with flexible, hybrid working.
