Description

McAshwey Stud is a small, family run showjumping and stud based in Rugby, Warwickshire.

They have a number of competing showjumping horses, as well as running the stud side of the business and offering competition livery.

Typically they would usually have 7 horses in work, ranging 3 year’s which are in for backing through to 7/8 year olds jumping 1.40+. They also have three brood mares and young stock which are stabled in over winter and deep littered.

The yard is beautiful with fantastic facilities. They have a number of part time staff as well as a main competition rider alongside Daisy herself. There will be the opportunity to groom at local, national and international shows regularly as well as having receiving support and training in a well varied and exciting role.

it is essential that you must be confident around horses and have experience handling young and fit horses; have a positive hard working, can do attitude and be able to work harmoniously with other staff.

There will be opportunity for the right candidate to be involved with the backing young horses of young horses and handling foals and young stock.

Usual yard duties such as mucking out, grooming, turning out and bringing in, rug changes, feeding/watering, maintaining a tidy clean yard and paddock and arena maintenance.

Essential: Experience with horses is a must particularly handling young, fit competition horses.

Desirable: the ability to ride to a good competition standard as there will be opportunity to ride.

GCSE Level 4/ Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent.
Call Haddon Training to discuss if not yet achieved - Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills Maths and English
Full Apprenticeship training given by Haddon Training

You should have a can-do attitude, work well as a team and take initiative without having to continually prompted.

Hard Working, kind and passionate about horses is a must.

Possibility to progress onto L3 apprenticeship after completion or be offered a full time role.
A beautiful yard with accommodation if needed
