BMW Plant Hams Hall, Birmingham - Level 3 Machining - 4 Year Apprenticeship (August 2024)
BMW Group Plant Hams Hall is a modern, state-of-the-art engine manufacturing facility, located just outside Birmingham, UK. Producing the latest generation of three and four cylinder petrol engines as well as V8 and V12 engines, the plant has recently celebrated 20 years of successful production. Operating seven days a week with more than one engine rolling off the line per minute, the plant plays a key role in BMW Group’s global production network, supplying engines for BMW and MINI, including some of the latest plug-in hybrid vehicles.
The technical teams you will be working with are responsible for the production of high-quality products through our automated manufacturing and logistics facilities along with routine maintenance. Candidates who successfully complete this apprenticeship will become a productive member of these teams with responsibility for operating and maintaining a group of machines within a complex manufacturing system. You will ensure that the productivity and quality objectives for these machines are achieved.
What will you be doing?
Primary activities will include:
•monitoring material flow within the system
•validating process quality
•recovering machine or robot faults
•Carrying out planned maintenance
•analysis of all appropriate data to identify trends and remedial actions
•taking care of first level fix (where skill set allows)

Following this, successful applicants will be shortlisted and invited to a face-to-face Assessment Centre with BMW Group. Provisionally, the Assessment Centre is due to take place week commencing 6th May 2024.
