Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Goodwood – Level 6 Quality Engineer (Interior Manufacturing) – 4 Year Apprenticeship (August 2024)

We are looking for an apprentice to join be an experienced and motivated team of Quality Engineers who make-up the Quality Department for Interior Manufacturing. The department oversees a broad range of products and processes supplying all Rolls-Royce models with their interior components such as seats, instrument panels and door panels. A successful candidate will be able to gain experience in the following areas:

Series Quality

  • Initiating a structured problem-solving approach, supporting the production teams in the timely resolution of quality problems.
  • Complete product, process and system audits to confirm we continue to meet the required standards.

Project Quality

  • The identification, risk assessment and control of product special characteristics in the development and series phases of a vehicle.

What will you be doing?

  • Daily attendance of planned production meetings taking away tasks which support the teams.
  • Investigating problems using a structured approach and implementing robust corrective actions.
  • Ensuring our products are meeting requirements by carrying out Conformance of Production checks and recording the results.
  • Actively driving the lessons learnt from previous projects into new products ensuring a problem free launch.
  • Creation of inspection instructions and product control equipment such as bespoke checking fixtures.
  • Carrying out the Process Series and Initial Sample Inspection Reporting (ISIR) confirming the industrialisation of the production processes for new Rolls-Royce Interior parts from concept through to a product release for series production.

You will need to be enthusiastic and well-disciplined as our apprenticeship is heavily focused on attitude and behaviour. In addition, you need to exhibit initiative, be reliable and conscientious. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to think logically and to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications and Experience

5 GCSE's at Grade C or above, including Mathematics, English and a Science, Technology or Engineering related subject

2 A Levels at grade C or above in both a Mathematical based subject and a Science, Technology, Engineering or additional Mathematics related subject or BTEC Level 3, Apprenticeship Level 3, Relevant Work Experience

If you successfully complete your apprenticeship you will have achieved Beng (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering. And this is just the start of your journey with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
