We are an established international showjumping yard in Warwick. We have two excellent apprenticeship opportunities available. We are looking for a level 2 Groom and a L3 senior groom apprentices to join our team. Occasional riding may still be involved, therefore, the candidates will ideally be experienced riders. The roles we are offering can involve international travel for the right person, as well as the option for further skills development, including horse transportation and veterinary training.

Description

We are a dynamic international showjumping yard that facilitates young horses, sales, and training. As an ambitious yard, they are expanding and looking for a new team member who loves horses and has an interest in their own personal and professional development.

There is the opportunity for growth within the role and for the apprentice to stay long-term. The position will not be focused on riding, but there could be some riding and training involved. As an apprentice, you will receive all the benefits of a paid employee and gain an industry-recognized qualification upon successful completion of the course.

Daily duties to include (but not be limited to);

  • grooming
  • mucking out
  • tacking up
  • turning out/ bringing in
  • feeding
  • exercising
There is the chance to also undergo HGV training and/or veterinary training as well as progression onto the advanced equine groom apprenticeship.

For the Level 2 Groom apprenticeship, a level 4 or above in maths and English GCSE's is desirable but not essential. If you don't have these grades, we will support you in gaining them through recognised Functional Skills qualifications.

The Level 3 candidate would require a level 4 or above in maths and English GCSEs and a functional Skills L2 equivalent.

You will be working towards the Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship.

You will also be closely supported to work towards gaining Functional Skills qualifications in maths and/ or English at Level 1 or 2 if required.

All training will be provided at the employer's premises under the guidance of Chiron Stables and Haddon Training.

For the right candidate, we are willing to pay for someone to take their HGV training, and have veterinary training, which could increase your future earning capacity in the industry.

Progression from the level 2 apprentice into a Level 3 Senior Equine Groom apprenticeship is possible for someone who can see themselves in a leadership position. Travel to international shows abroad could also be offered.

Working pattern to be Tuesday to Saturday, but Chiron Stables can be flexible, dependent on the candidate's situation. Working hours to be agreed with successful candidate.
