Description

Eventing and livery yard based on the Norfolk Coast offering a range of services such as breaking, schooling and hunter liveries.

Looking for 2 dedicated groom apprentices with riding ability who are passionate about working in the equine industry and understand the commitment involved. The usual jobs of mucking out, grooming, turning out and bringing in, feeding, maintaining the yard and fields are to be expected. As a livery yard you will also be expected to be able to communicate with clients as well as work well in a team with others.

Opportunity to learn how to break in young horses and to handle young stock. Own horse welcome with the opportunity to have lessons with indie who is qualified and ridden at 4 * Eventing as well as bring own horse to shows, events and clinics when space is available. You will also have the chance to travel to events to groom.

Plenty of riding opportunities on this friendly family run yard.

The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, be a team player and get stuck in, use of initiative and be well organised and time efficient.

We would like someone with a can do positive attitude, who is reliable and trustworthy. You should be hardworking and dedicated, who is willing to learn. The job will involve working outdoors in all weathers come rain or shine! The apprenticeship is based on site fulltime so no need to be sitting in a classroom. If you did not gain your English & Maths GCSE's at school we can support you to gain these whilst on programme.

Hours and days to be discussed at interview but generally between 30-40 hours a week (up to 48 for 18years+). The interview will consist of a trial day at the yard.


You need to be a UK resident or have lived in the EU for 3 years or more in order to apply for this role. Anyone that holds an Equine L3 qualification is not eligible for this role.

A GCSE or equivalent pass in English and maths is beneficial but not essential. If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your Functional Skills English and maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.

All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.
