Description

At Aquarius we balance quality, fine dining with a relaxed feel. Everything we do is offered to an incredibly high standard with one of the largest cocktail menus in the South West complimented by incredible grilled seafood, great vegetarian and vegan options, tapas and contemporary dishes. Working in our kitchen will offer traditional and modern techniques, classic butchery and a high end quality all with knowledge of local suppliers and seasonal, sustainable produce.

As a part of our small team you will be versed in the kitchen, both in prep and service, as well as ordering, stock management and seasonal menu prep and development. Our menu requires a broad spectrum of skills as we cater for many palettes, with each dish executed with quality, even if it is our Classic Aquarius Burger. There will also be cleaning duties included in your role with us, giving you a great foundation for future careers in catering but also with us, we offer a great level of promotion and even cross training with Owner Dominic providing classical Italian Barista, and Sommelier from his time in a Michelin Star restaurant.

List of duties:

  • Kitchen Management: Stock Rotation and Management, Stock Ordering (with training), Fridge and Freezer Management
  • Food Prep: Making Sauces, Preparing Dishes, Cooking pre-prepared Dishes, Preparing Veg, Butchery of Fish
  • Service: Cooking Dishes in assistance to the Head Chef Menu Prep: Training will include working with our seasonal menu
  • Cleaning: Kitchen Duties to include cleaning the kitchen at close of service, general cleaning duties for service areas

We are looking for an applicant who is wanting to progress and make the role “their own”, we will offer the training to give you the freedom to start to develop your own menus and ideas in the kitchen, to progress in the kitchen and in the business - this is a career based role with a future and further training throughout.
There are times the business will require long working hours with faced-paced food and drinks orders, including special events like our annual festival or Christmas Eve Brunch and there are other days when the work is slower and more prep based - such is the nature of a kitchen.
