Description
Duties include:
- Ensure that all income and expenditures are accurately processed and recorded to both Sage nominal, Sage fund codes and Donorfy CRM database in accordance with accounting procedures.
- Respond to donations received as required e.g. prepare receipts, etc.
- Process and record JustGiving donations, Worldpay donations and CAF Vouchers and all other similar forms of transactions.
- Deposit cash and cheques into the charity’s bank account in a timely manner.
- Maintain supplier ledger in Sage; prepare electronic payments and/or cheques and submit them, with appropriate back-up material, for authorisation and signature before arranging remittance.
- Keep orderly files of all invoices, receipts, bank statements and other financial records.
- Maintain the special funds records, recording changes of Fund Advisers, signatories etc.
- Distribute quarterly statements to fund advisers and provide assistance as required.
- Respond to finance and other general inquiries via phone, email etc., liaise with other staff members as appropriate.
- Perform any other task which the Finance Director or Senior Finance Officer reasonably requests.
- Generate Purchase Orders and Invoices when necessary, ensuring they are filed and accurately coded.

Expertise in MS Office especially Word and Excel.
- A Levels grade A-C.

Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Level 2.
This level is ideal for existing staff or new talent in accounting and finance. Their work could include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct, recording of cash and data entry.
Learners will complete the mandatory AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. The Certificate in Accounting comprises of four exams and an End Point Assessment. You must successfully complete the following:
- Introduction to Bookkeeping (ITBK)
- Principles of Bookkeeping Control (POBC)
- Principles of Costing (PCTN)
- Business Environment (BESY)
- EPA - In Tray exercise
An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate time to off the job training, as well as completing knowledge, skills and behaviours associated with your apprenticeship.
Accurate and methodical.
Ability to work both independently using own initiative and flexibly as part of a small busy team.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Grow within the finance team.
Please note, the salary is £15,000 - £20,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
