Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship

Leading sessions in football, street cricket, pana football, boxing, and cycling for young people aged 10 - 16. Mentoring opportunities along with delivering NCS programmes. Working hours are flexible, 2pm-8pm, 5 days/week including weekends as required.

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Community Activator Coach Apprentice (Level 2). As an apprentice, you will play a pivotal role in supporting community engagement initiatives and promoting positive social change. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional development in the field of community activation and coaching.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Community Engagement:

- Actively engage with local young people to understand their needs, concerns, and aspirations.

- Organise and lead on community sports sessions, events, workshops, and NCS activities to foster a sense of unity and collaboration.

2. Coaching Support:

- Develop new coaching programmes within the community.

- Provide one-on-one coaching sessions to community members under the guidance of senior coaches.

3. Communication:

- Facilitate effective communication between community members, local organisations, and relevant stakeholders.

- Utilise various communication channels, including leaflets, posters and social media, to disseminate information about community initiatives and events.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate records of community engagement activities, attendance, and feedback.

- Generate regular reports for senior staff, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

5. Training and Development:

- Participate in training programmes to enhance coaching skills, community development knowledge, and leadership capabilities.

- Attend workshops and seminars to stay informed about best practices in community engagement and activation.

Qualifications:

- Desired (Not Essential): Level 1 in Sports Coaching or relevant qualification. Enhanced DBS check required.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Passion for community development and a genuine interest in helping other young people achieve their goals.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal supervision.

- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media platforms.
