Description

Salary:

  • Until completion of phase two training: £25,200 + benefits
  • After technical training: £27,200 + benefits
(After one year of service and completing Professional Workplace Assessments on first posting)

What you will do:

  • Help pilots by giving them real-time information and sharing data from sensors.
  • Make sure aircraft radar, communication, and targeting equipment work well.
  • Fix on-board technology that controls weapons.
  • Take care of the systems that produce and distribute electricity on aircraft.
  • Support aircraft systems while they are flying or when they are deployed.
  • Travel to other countries to support RAF aircraft and equipment during missions and exercises.

By the end of your apprenticeship, you will have:

  • Be aged 16 – 47 years old (Must attest before 48th birthday)
  • Be a citizen of the UK or dual UK/ other nationality
  • Commit to a minimum 3 years after completion of specialist training
  • Pass the Defence Aptitude Assessment
  • Pass a fitness test

  • GCSE grade C/4 or Scottish National 5 grade C in English, Mathematics, and a Science/Technology subject.


  • If a candidate lacks either GCSE English or Maths (but not both), they must complete the DAA and achieve Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths or English during Phase 1 training at RAF Halton before entering Phase 2. Failure to achieve the required academic standard may result in the candidate being discharged from the Service.
