The Old Mill are on the lookout for an enthusiastic individual to join their dynamic kitchen team!

The restaurant is set in the oldest part of the hotel and sits above a mill run which is visible through a viewing panel. The pleasing rush of the waters and the large open fireplace make it one of the best places to enjoy traditional food that's been freshly prepared by our chefs.

As a chef apprentice, your passion and desire to serve the perfect dish every time is what sets you apart. You'll have a keen eye for maintaining the highest standards and thrive during a fast-paced service, becoming an invaluable member of the team in no time.

Previous experience is not required, but the suitable candidate must be passionate about food and eager to begin a career in the hospitality and catering industry.

What does the role involve?

* Working closely alongside the rest of the kitchen team to ensure all menu items and specials are prepared and cooked to company specification.

* Familiarising yourself with new products, menus, and promotions within the pub.

* Maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment, cleaning as you go.

* Working safely around all kitchen equipment, identifying any maintenance issues and escalating to management where required.

What does the apprenticeship include?

* A blend of virtual and in person meetings with your Learning Coach every 4-6 weeks.

* A hands on, practical approach to learning to ensure you are able to achieve your goals.

* On the job and off the job training.

* Functional skills in Maths and English (if you haven't already achieved your GCSEs)
