Description

Permanent contract 5 days out of 7 (only 3 or 4 evenings per week) Company pension scheme Cooking for events, members, parties, bar menus, BBQ’s, regattas, social evenings. A great opportunity to develop skills and learn on the job. 37.5 hours per weekly average. Tips and car park pass in Kingswear 24/7 ticket offered.


· Monitors kitchen equipment and reports issues to superiors

· Continually develops culinary knowledge to produce high-quality meals

· Measures, mixes, and prepares meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings

· Washes, chops, and cuts fruit, meat, and vegetable items

· Assesses inventory and requests resupply when necessary

· Plates meal items under the chef de partie’s supervision

· Disposes of spoiled items and adheres to sanitation policies

· Good understanding of food, health, and safety regulations

· Excellent communication skills

· Computer literate

· Able to lift heavy items

· Able to work holidays and weekends

· High school diploma or equivalent; higher certification in culinary arts preferred

· 1-2 years of work experience in a similar role

· Good understanding of food, health, and safety regulations

Grade 4/C in both English and Maths GCSEs

Open to someone with a passion and a willingness to learn, ideally with some vocational knowledge of hospitality or at least a years college experience.

1 day a week at Exeter College

  • Passionate, hardworking, team player, doesn't mind where the work. good sense of humour. willing and flexible.

The successful candidate will be able to train and develop in a very diverse atmosphere, being able to showcase their skills and progress the ranks. With completion of college we would hope to progress the applicant to a chef de partie/2nd chef status.

Having transport or a car is desirable as although there is public transport available, restricted times (usually before service is finished) and doesn't run on Sundays/bank holidays.
