Join our team as a Accounts Assistant at Imperial, one of the largest kitchenware suppliers in the UK home to Scoville and Eaziglide. We are rapidly expanding our team and are in search of a dedicated individual to play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our finance operations. This is an ideal position for someone at the beginning of their accounts career path.

The primary duties of this position include:

  • Processing daily transactions.
  • Generating daily sales reports.
  • Maintaining sales ledger and purchase ledger.
  • Reconciling month-end balance sheets Supporting stock analysis and forecasting.
  • Providing ad hoc management information and reporting.
  • Assisting with day-to-day functions of the Finance Team.
  • Beyond the core responsibilities, there will be opportunities for involvement in various aspects of the broader finance function, making this role suitable for candidates eager to broaden their experience and skills.

You will report directly to the Finance Controller and will receive comprehensive training and support across all facets of the role. Nonetheless, you will be encouraged to take on responsibilities independently from the start.

Proactivity, initiative, and effective communication skills, both internally and externally, are essential for success in this role.

  • Able to grasp the basic principles of reconciling the general ledger with knowledge of double entry movements.
  • A good level of accuracy when data inputting and reviewing work.

  • GCSE's grades 9/A* - 5/B including Maths and English.

Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Level 2.

This level is ideal for existing staff or new talent in accounting and finance. Their work could include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct, recording of cash and data entry.

Learners will complete the mandatory AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. The Certificate in Accounting comprises of four exams and an End Point Assessment. You must successfully complete the following:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping (ITBK)
  • Principles of Bookkeeping Control (POBC)
  • Principles of Costing (PCTN)
  • Business Environment (BESY)
  • EPA - In Tray exercise

An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate time to off the job training, as well as completing knowledge, skills and behaviours associated with your apprenticeship.

  • The candidate would preferably have good communication and organisational skills.
  • Work well in a team environment and have a strong work ethic.
  • Basic or higher knowledge of Microsoft office outlook/Excel/Word would be beneficial as would any exposure to Sage software.

Please note, the salary is £19k-£24k depending on qualifications and experience.
