A good researcher watches a lot of television, is interested in people and can build good relationships. They have a keen eye for detail and are able to acquire an in- depth knowledge of any subject they are tasked with. They are persuasive and demonstrate tenacity to get the job done. Researchers find contributors, locations and stories for TV shows, and are a key part of coming up with content for a show.

Essential criteria for a good candidate:
- Enthusiasm for content whether it be factual, factual entertainment or entertainment (known in the industry as unscripted)
- Watches a wide variety of current television programmes
- Desire to build a career in television
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Competent across a range of IT software including MS Office and Outlook
- Ability to work in pressurised environments
- Ability to work in a team
- Comfortable with working with a wide range of people
Desirable criteria:
- Good communication skills including writing and presenting brief
- Proactive and enthusiastic approach to working
- Ability to generate ideas
- Good general knowledge and interest in what is going on around them
This is an entry level role, experience in this field or a relevant degree is not required. We are looking for people who have a clear and demonstrable passion for Television Production, with no more than 3 months of industry experience.
In your first week of the scheme you will have 1 week of TV Boot Camp training delivered by thinkBIGGER! You will then receive monthly training either in person or virtually with thinkBIGGER! You will receive on-going on the job training whilst working at your company for the duration of the scheme.
This is an opportunity to begin your career in the TV industry. Former trainees of the Production Training Scheme have taken their own unique career paths and are now very successful within the industry.
