Seapeak are a global leader in international maritime transportation, with presence all over the world. They have previously brought in apprentices in their IT department, supporting their development and achieve their qualification. 



What will your day look like?





  • Dealing with requests received from “walk-ups”, emails, Teams and calls as well as handling tickets assigned from our ticket management system, Zendesk; obtaining relevant information on the problem initially and resolving the issues personally as skills develop


  • Support will involve IT hardware, software, Microsoft 365, networking and also liaising with specialists on business applications


  • Taking responsibility for IT equipment, ensuring IT store areas are kept tidy, organised and stocked


  • Creating user accounts and updating details and memberships in Active Directory, Azure AD and Exchange primarily using our Adaxes management tool


  • Performing routine IT tasks such as imaging laptops, cabling desks and setting up other IT equipment


  • Performing routine checks to ensure equipment is functioning correctly in the office as well as being proactive at identifying other issues and dealing with any problems that arise


  • Assisting the IT team with any other duties required to support the business


  • Some travel may be required to other offices and vessels as experience is developed


  • In addition to the QA training, a level of self-study is expected to gain knowledge of operating systems and technologies used as part of the job




Required skills:





  • Have some IT and technology skills and a keen interest in computers and technology in general


  • Have excellent communication skills


  • Be organised and have excellent attention to detail


  • National 5 Maths and English




Salary:



£16,000 per annum



Working hours:



Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

90% of QA apprentices secure permanent employment after completing: this is 20% higher than the national average.

They talk you through the specifics on the qualifications you gain and how they align in particular to your day to day role.



On completion, as well as the valuable work experience you have gained, you get a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF Level 6.
