Our Apprentices experience a variety of different rotations aimed at progressing their skills, knowledge, and personal development, gaining valuable insight into the inner workings of various departments across Network Services.
This is an exciting role with great opportunities to progress your career in the telecommunication industry while gaining an industry recognised qualification at the same time.
⢠To work in a multitude of environments such as offices, outdoors, BT exchanges, data centers, and emergency service locations.
⢠Learn how to install, maintain, and test on-site equipment in line with the various contract requirements.
⢠Work on Emergency Services vehicles installing telecommunications equipment.
⢠How to work with Optical Fibre including cable preparation, splicing, OTDR testing, and how to interpret the results.
⢠Learn all about IP routers and networks.
⢠Understand the requirements of the different customers and contracts and how to fulfill those needs How to complete risk assessments To become part of a UK-wide field force

Although supported throughout the programme by us at Telent you will need to take ownership of your tasks and personal development Communication is vital; you will need to be an effective communicator both in writing and verbally
⢠Have a logical approach and enjoy problem solving
⢠Be able to undertake physically demanding work and possess normal colour vision and hearing
To be considered for this role, you must have a C/4 grade in both GCSE Maths & English, and in three or four other subjects. You should have a GCSE/BTEC/A Level in ICT or at least hands-on experience with the workings of computers and IT.
CORE MODULES
The apprenticeship contains the following three core key modules which seek to develop the
knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be a successful Information Communications Technician.
The final module is a Pathway module to provide specialist career track skills and knowledge depending
on which track was chosen at the outset from the 3 options available.
Computer fundamentals & Security
Gain an understanding of the core concepts in computing including hardware, software, security and troubleshooting.
Introduction to Networking & Cloud Services
An introduction to the fundamental cloud
concepts of networking and cloud computing, including networking
modules, devices and protocols.
Communication in Support
Support in IT requires good communications skills. Develop your communications skills by exploring the best practices of support.
You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or Maths if neededâ¯

Must hold a full UK driving licence.
Able to pass full Security Clearance vetting for access to secure information, site access and confidential permissions.
Able to adhere to our Drugs & Alcohol policy and pass a pre-employment Drugs & Alcohol assessment.
Potential for a full-time role upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.
