The apprenticeship will allow you to gain so much experience learning from the absolute best in the industry in both disciplines. Tabitha their daughter has taken on the reins of the business and competes for Team GB. The employer needs a groom who is willing to travel to shows, which includes national and international travel. There is on site accommodation and own horse welcome

Description

International event riders Mark and Tanya Kyle have been producing and competing event horses to the highest level for many years, and have recently diversified and are focusing more energy into doing the same with jumping ponies and horses.


Enviable facilities including heated tackroom, indoor school, outdoor school, hot wash areas, lunge pens and much more.


Both have competed to Olympic level in eventing and now concentrate on training other riders to fulfil their dreams in SJ and eventing. The yard has a large number of dealing horses being produced so opportunity to ride if competent. The location attend many shows so lots of opportunities for the right candidates.

Duties include all general horse care but not limited to:-

  • Show preperation
  • Lunging
  • Riding
  • Turning out
  • Grooming
  • Mucking out

Working hours are done on a rota basis and you will be working with a friendly team. A very varied yard with competition horses, dealing horses and liveries and lots of shows ensures no day is ever the same. If you did not gain your Maths & English grades at GCSE we will support you to achieve these whilst on programme.

The apprenticeship is based on site so mainly practical based and not lots of classroom time.

You have to be a UK resident or have lived in the EU for 3 years or more in order to apply for this role. If you already hold a L3 Equine qualification then you are unable to apply for this role.

The interview will consist of a trial day working at the yard.

Horse handling experience required

Ideally looking for a competent rider.

A GCSE or equivalent pass in English and maths is beneficial but not essential. If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your Functional Skills English and maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.

All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.
