Description

Pevlings Farm Riding and Livery Yard based in Somerset are looking to recruit a level 2 or level 3 equine apprentice to join their team.

They offer riding lessons in flat work or jumping in their floodlit all-weather 40m x 20m arenas and in the summer they ride in their fields and use a variety of cross country jumps. They also run a number of activities, fun days and competitions as well as being a Pony Club Centre.


The ideal candidate will have an interest in pursuing a career in coaching/ instructing riding and will have the opportunity to assist in rides and lessons.

General duties to include: mucking out, sweeping and cleaning the yard, handling and caring for the horses, preparing horses for lessons including tacking up and grooming.

This a position for a ridden or non-ridden apprentice however, some experience with horses and yard work would be needed.


5 days a week - 4 weekday and 1 weekend day

32 hours a week plus occasional extra hours to assist with later lessons

No accommodation

Possible option to bring horse on livery.

The apprenticeship is based onsite therefore, not lots of time in a classroom. If you didn't gain your GCSE grades in Maths & English we can support you whilst on programme..

A GCSE or equivalent pass in English and maths is beneficial but not essential. If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your Functional Skills English and maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.

All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.
