Description
Responsibilities:
Accounting Processes:
- Learn the basics of accountancy processes and procedures, including the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Gain proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage and Xero to record financial transactions and generate reports.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support audit findings and tax submissions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process supplier invoices, schedule and plan supplier payment runs, and reconcile accounts payable ledgers.
- Process employee expense claims and ensure compliance with company expense policies.
Banking and Reconciliations:
- Perform daily banking activities, reconciling transactions to corresponding bills and invoices to maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with month-end bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
Billing and Credit Control:
- Manage the billing inbox, responding to customer queries, conducting credit control activities, and monitoring Aged Receivables to facilitate timely payment of invoices.
- Work closely with customers to address payment issues and resolve outstanding balances in a professional manner.
Payroll and VAT Returns:
- Input monthly payroll changes and assist in the preparation of payroll reports and tax filings.
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns and ensure compliance with VAT regulations and reporting requirements.

- IT competent and be familiar with computerised packages, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Grade C or above in at least 5 GCSEs, including English and Mathematics

On completion of the L3 AAT there is room to progress to the L4 and then L7 with pay rises after completion of each level.
