The Loan Market Association (LMA) are a trade body, acting as the authoritative voice of the syndicated loan market in EMEA. Founded in December 1996 by banks operating in that market, Its aim is to encourage liquidity in both the primary and secondary loan markets by promoting efficiency and transparency, as well as by developing standards of documentation and codes of market practice, which are widely used and adopted.



Membership of the LMA currently stands at over 850 institutions and consists of banks, non-bank investors, law firms, rating agencies and service providers.

Job Role

We are recruiting a Technology & Change Apprentice, a hardworking, organised and flexible individual who has an innate willingness to learn. This position represents a unique opportunity that is structured and progressive in terms of development. You will be situated at the heart of the financial services industry whilst supporting a growing technology and change department that has significant strategic ambitions.



Your main roles and responsibilities will include:





  • Desktop support for Windows applications


  • Analyse the internal and external business and technology environment, outline potential opportunities, solve problems and overcome challenges with innovative technology solutions.


  • Working across the entire project lifecycle, assessing need, gathering requirements, assisting with delivery from a project and technical perspective.


  • Assume responsibility for project management plans including communications, scheduling, Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies (RAID).


  • Engage with new and existing vendors, negotiating contracts, drafting specifications, managing performance


  • Monitoring security metrics, analysing and taking remedial action (where appropriate)




Requirements and Prospects



Qualifications Required:





  • To be considered for this role, you must hold a C/4 grade in both GCSE Maths and English. You should have a BTEC in ICT or two A Level’s at grade C or above.

  • A passion for Technology, IT and all things Digital


  • An eagerness to learn, willingness to try and engage with complex problems.


  • A team player- supportive of others

  • The LMA are looking for someone who is positive, self-motivated, possesses a can-do attitude and who isn’t afraid to ask questions.




Entry Requirements:





  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject


  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)


  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject




You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.



If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
