About the role:

Right item, right price, right time is what procurement is all about. In this role you will perform duties across the full procurement process which ensuring you remain compliant with government regulations and meeting management objectives.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing internal order request messages
  • Managing supplier delivery schedule – identifying and resolving issues up until shipment
  • Liaising with the finance team to issue purchase orders
  • Negotiating price and delivery time scales that meet your business need
  • Implementing strategic supplier segmentation project
  • Working on internal procurement projects with a view to continuous business development, including standardised packaging and work apparel

To succeed in this role you need to…

  • Have strong written communication and verbal communication skills
  • Have strong prioritisation skills with a sense of urgency
  • Be able to recognise and solve problems
  • Be well-organised, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
  • Be able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Have strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers

In order to apply you must have….

  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s at Grade 9 to 4 (A* to C) including English and Maths
  • 2 A levels in any subject (or equivalent)
  • The right to work in the UK 
  • Been a UK/EU/EAA resident for the past three years or more prior to starting the course  
  • Left full time education when the apprenticeship you are applying for is due to start  
  • A full clean UK driving license is preferable but not essential

About the apprenticeship…

Alongside your day role, you will work to complete your Level 4 Procurement and Supply Assistant Apprenticeship with a specified external training provider. This will give you the knowledge, training and external approval to do your job effectively. This apprenticeship duration is approximately 18 months in duration.
