About the role:

Throughout the apprenticeship, you’ll learn a wide breadth of skills including engineering principles and theory to help you understand ‘why’ things work, as well as hands on machine use as you explore ‘how’ they work. With exposure to a diverse range of manufacturing processes like welding, vacuum brazing, and more, you'll build a strong foundation of engineering knowledge.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Calibrate machinery and perform test routines to ensure they are in working order
  • A breadth of manufacturing processes such as welding, vacuum brazing, swaging, potting and many more
  • Maintain Business Information Systems with content where appropriate
  • Work in line with company procedures for health and safety
  • Learn engineering principles such as lean manufacturing
  • Manual Machining
  • Gathers technical data to support product and working practice improvements
  • Prepares and sets up equipment to support the teams daily tasks
  • Captures notes and RAILS for technical meetings and tracks closure
  • Ability to understand and follow specific basic instructions and procedure
  • Ability to operate workshop equipment and tools
  • Can follow troubleshooting process

  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s at Grade 9 to 4 (A* to C) including English and Maths
  • The right to work in the UK 
  • Been a UK/EU/EAA resident for the past three years or more prior to starting the course  
  • Left full time education when the apprenticeship you are applying for is due to start  

About the apprenticeship…

Alongside your day role, you will work to complete Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship with a specified external training provider. This will give you the knowledge, training and external approval to do your job effectively. This apprenticeship duration is approximately 4 years in duration.
