About the role:
As a Facilities Specialist Apprentice, you'll be at the forefront of keeping Parker Meggitt’s facilities running smoothly! You’ll dive into various aspects of building maintenance and repairs, from plumbing to carpentry, ensuring company spaces are safe and functional. Your input will also be valuable in identifying and planning improvement projects, whether it's site refurbishments or modifications.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Supporting general building maintenance and repairs, including Plumbing, Carpentry, building (including PAT testing) as and when required.
- Producing health and safety/dynamic risk assessments and detailed timescales for facility projects.
- Ensuring that day to day operations are achieved and that all plans are on track. Including the management of maintenance requests and planned maintenance schedules
- Providing support and labour for general lift & shift exercises, including plant and premises relocation, furniture removals and other related tasks. (this may include the use of lifting equipment ie: forklift truck)
- Supporting in the management and overseeing of site contractors and related tasks. Including security screening and visitor management.
- Assisting in the management of facility repairs and contract maintenance as and when required.
- Providing assistance in identifying and planning site improvement projects. Including site refurbishments and modifications.

In order to apply you must have...
- Minimum 5 GCSE’s at Grade 9 to 4 (A* to C) including English and Maths
- The right to work in the UK
- Been a UK/EU/EAA resident for the past three years or more prior to starting the course
- Left full time education when the apprenticeship you are applying for is due to start
- The right to work in the UK is preferable but not essential
About the apprenticeship…
Alongside your day role, you will work to complete your Level 2 Facilities Services Operative Apprenticeship with a specified external training provider. This will give you the knowledge, training and external approval to do your job effectively. This apprenticeship duration is approximately 12 months in duration.
