About the role:
As a Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you’ll support engineering maintenance and provide operational support through collaboration and coordination. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring business continuity through maintaining and repairing machines to ensure Production output is maintained.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Maintenance team to perform regular planned “preventive maintenance” on production plant equipment and to electronically document for audit purposes.
- Supporting the Maintenance team in fault finding, assist in the repair of daily machine breakdowns, and to liaise with outside service engineers when fault is non-repairable.
- Attending daily meetings to report on any machine issues that affect production.
- Supporting with day-to-day maintenance i.e changing light bulbs, fuses, filters, water leaks, wiring of plugs, sockets, element filaments etc.
- Supporting engineering to maintain outsourced calibrated equipment.
- Collaborating with manufacturing systems engineers to support engagement with external calibration and service engineers

About the apprenticeship…
Alongside your day role, you will work to complete your Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship with a specified external training provider. This will give you the knowledge, training and external approval to do your job effectively. This apprenticeship duration is approximately 3 years in duration.
