s Apprentice Chef at Yum Bug you will be working with our restaurant team to develop delicious dishes for our restaurant menu and run excellent service.
About the Role
You’ll be:
- Helping to run a brand-new insect-based restaurant in London
- Working with the Chefs and founders Leo & Aaron to design an evolving insect-based menu
- Ensuring smooth running of the kitchen inc. prepping meals, ordering stock etc
- Attending events or festivals that we are catering for
- Jumping in to help other team members every so often with tasks outside of the kitchen, when necessary
What you need to do the job effectively:
- Passion for cooking and desire to be an amazing chef.
- Organisational skills, both in task management and kitchen cleanliness.
- Able to take constructive feedback.
- Not be afraid of hard work and occasionally pulling long hours.
- Able to work in a team and communicate clearly (inc speak, read and write in perfect English)
What You'll Get
£6.40 per hour - going up to £8.40 an hour after a 3-month review.

To become an apprentice, you must:
Be 16 years or over.
Not already be in full-time education.
You can start an apprenticeship whether you’re starting your career, want a change. You can have a previous qualification like a degree and still start an apprenticeship.
As an apprentice you’ll:
Have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace.
Learn and train for a specific job.
Get paid and receive holiday leave.
Get hands-on experience in a real job.
Study for at least 20% of your working hours.
Complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
