MBDA, in partnership with The Launch Group has developed a bespoke three-week employment programme. The Movement to Work programme has been designed to give prospective apprentices the opportunity to gain an insight into the business and help prepare them for the upcoming apprenticeship intake.

This programme will prepare candidates for employment at MBDA through:

  • Offering a one week work experience placement within MBDA
  • Giving an insight into the defence industry, the MBDA business and job roles
  • Developing teamwork, communication & employability skills
  • Improving interview skills in preparation for the interview process
  • Bypassing the initial application, feeding you directly into the assessment days

The MBDA Movement to Work programme is an in-person 3 week programme for young adults, wanting to set their career in motion and find out more about future career opportunities.

The programme is jam-packed, full of professional development activities which will help you to kick start your career!

In Week 1 you will get to know the group you will be working alongside for the next 3 weeks. You will start to develop your soft skills, build your confidence, meet your Buddy/mentor and discover what a workplace like MBDA can offer.

Week 2 will allow you to discover careers at MBDA. You will gain valuable work experience from a range of different departments around the business. Here you will discover your strengths, learn new skills and develop your knowledge!

The final week will see you practice interview techniques, brush up your CV, reflect on what you have learnt over the course of the programme and think about your next steps in setting your career into motion. On the final day, we will recognise your achievements by hosting an uplifting celebration event!

During the 3 weeks at MBDA Bolton, you will receive mentoring and support from MBDA professionals whilst experiencing every day in a friendly and welcoming workplace.

At MBDA we do not have a dress code. Instead, we would like you to wear clothes that allow you to be your best. If that is work attire or jeans and a t-shirt, we want you to be free to be you. We provide free branded t-shirts/polos to you on the first day of the programme and the course facilitators will mainly wear casual clothes.

You will find out more about the MBDA Apprenticeship opportunities during the placement. If you are interested in applying for MBDA once the placement ends, MBDA will support you through the assessment process and invite you to attend an Assessment Centre for the role you are interested in.

All travel is reimbursed and all lunched provided throughout the three week programme.
