Description

Prism Medical have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice Accounts Payable Clerk. Working within a small team, following a period of training and development you will be responsible for a proportion of the ledger for a wide range of suppliers and Subcontractors.

You will be expected to manage a busy and varied daily workload, within tight timelines and to a high level of accuracy. Excellent interpersonal skills alongside the capability to manage and prioritise workload effectively is essential. The company will support you in working towards your AAT Qualifications through a registered apprenticeship.

Essential Duties:

1. Setting up Suppliers:

  • New supplier request: Checking requested new supplier information and verifying credibility.
  • Inputting: adding new supplier details to the system.

2. Invoice processing:

  • Purchase order: checking purchase order details match the invoice.
  • Processing: Entering the invoice on to the ledger.
  • Collaborating: Communicating with both colleagues and suppliers to rectify any queries.

3. Timely Payments and Overdue Invoices:

  • On-Time Payments: Monitoring suppliers payment terms and ensuring invoices are processed accordingly.
  • Statement reconciliation: checking supplier statements to ensure they match the ledger, requesting missing invoices.
  • Payment requests: Ensuring requests are reported and documented.

4. Payment processing:

  • Payments: Ensuring payment details are accurately inputted on to the ledger.
  • Remittances: Emailing payment information to the supplier.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Regular Communication: Regularly communicating with suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Teamwork: Working as part of a team.

  • Experience of Sage and Access would be beneficial but not essential.

  • GCSE's grades 9/A* - 4/C including Maths and English.

Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Level 2.

This level is ideal for existing staff or new talent in accounting and finance. Their work could include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct, recording of cash and data entry.

Learners will complete the mandatory AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. The Certificate in Accounting comprises of four exams and an End Point Assessment. You must successfully complete the following:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping (ITBK)
  • Principles of Bookkeeping Control (POBC)
  • Principles of Costing (PCTN)
  • Business Environment (BESY)
  • EPA - In Tray exercise

An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate time to off the job training, as well as completing knowledge, skills and behaviours associated with your apprenticeship.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A clear and confident telephone manner.
  • Confident email communicator with strong literacy skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a varied range of customers.
  • Ability to work independently and also collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
