Description
Solicitor apprentices will spend their first 12 months based in business function teams – such as risk and compliance, knowledge and information and research. Here, you will develop your knowledge, gain transferable skills and broaden your understanding of how law firms operate.
Over the following three years, you will have the opportunity to spend 12 months in several different practice areas including real estate, corporate, asset finance or dispute resolution. Throughout these rotations you will gain valuable experiences whilst developing your legal skills.
Typical tasks include legal research, engaging with clients, assisting fee earners with tasks, document management and article writing. For the final two years, you’ll rotate practice groups every four months. At this point there will be an opportunity to spend four months based in one of our international offices.

- Good use of microsoft office skills is helpful.
- You are not required to have any previous legal work experience.
- Applicants will need to have achieved, or be predicted, at least ABB at A-Level (or equivalent) and GCSE Maths and English (grades 9 – 4).
One day per week will be spent with BPP University, working towards your LLB Hons) Law and Legal Practice degree and the Solicitor Level 7 apprenticeship. Upon completion of your law degree, you will sit the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE) 1&2 and qualify as a solicitor.
Your Level 7 apprenticeship shall be delivered by a blend of online and face-to-face from BPP. Coupled with the on-the-job learning, completion of the apprenticeship will lead to obtaining your solicitor qualification.
The apprenticeship standard is based on the SRA's Statement of Solicitor Competence. Achievement of the standard and the associated apprenticeship assessment plan will satisfy the SRA's regulatory framework for qualification as a solicitor, subject to the SRA's usual tests of character and suitability.
- During the selection process, will will be looking for applicants who can clearly outline their motivation for applying. We also place an emphasis on resilience, teamwork, attention to detail, communication skills and analytical ability.
