About the Role
Are you a recent school or college leaver with a passion for numbers and a desire to build a career in finance? We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our finance team as a Finance Apprentice. This role is perfect for someone eager to gain hands-on experience while studying towards a recognised accounting qualification, such as AAT.
As a Finance Apprentice, you will receive comprehensive training and mentorship, enabling you to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in finance. You will work closely with our experienced finance professionals, contributing to key financial processes and gaining a deep understanding of the financial operations within our organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Group Finance Team and the Investment Group CFO & COO with various financial tasks, administrative duties and general support to the Team. Then, during the apprenticeship a full programme of responsibilities, to include but not limited to, various aspects of the following:
- Assist in Financial Reporting: Support the finance team in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Bookkeeping: Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including processing invoices, receipts, payments, and reconciling accounts.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analysing variances and providing insights.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Data Analysis: Assist in analysing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to support business decisions.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and assist in preparing for internal and external audits.
Training & Development
- Accounting Qualification: You will receive full support and study leave towards obtaining a recognised accounting qualification (AAT).
- Mentorship: Work alongside experienced finance professionals who will provide guidance and mentorship throughout your apprenticeship.

- Numeracy Skills: Strong numerical ability, with attention to detail and accuracy in financial calculations.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyse financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly.
- IT Proficiency: Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and an ability to quickly learn new software.
- Educational Background: Recent sixth form or college leaver, with strong GCSE/A-Level results (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Economics, or related subjects.
