We are known for our customer-centric approach and commitment to technical excellence. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated IT Support Assistant to join our team as part of an IT Level 3 Apprenticeship programme. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in IT and develop expertise in Microsoft 365 technologies.

Role Overview:

As an IT Support Assistant, you will work alongside our experienced IT team to provide support for our clients' Microsoft 365 environments. This apprenticeship will offer hands-on experience in troubleshooting, configuration, and support of Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive. You will receive structured training through the IT Level 3 Apprenticeship programme while gaining practical skills in a real-world environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Microsoft 365 Support: Assist in providing remote and onsite support for Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive, under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • User Management: Help manage user accounts, security groups, and permissions within Microsoft 365 Admin Centre.

  • Troubleshooting: Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues with Microsoft 365 applications and services, escalating complex issues to senior staff as needed.

  • Setup and Configuration: Assist in the configuration and setup of new users, devices, and services in Microsoft 365 environments.

  • Client Support: Provide first-line support to clients, ensuring that their Microsoft 365 systems are operational and addressing any queries or issues they may have.

  • Backup and Recovery: Support the implementation and monitoring of data backup and recovery solutions within Microsoft 365 environments.

  • Documentation: Assist in creating and maintaining documentation for internal processes, client configurations, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Learning and Development: Participate in the IT Level 3 Apprenticeship programme, attending training sessions, completing coursework, and applying newly learned skills in the workplace.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Eagerness to Learn: A strong interest in IT and a desire to develop skills in Microsoft 365 and general IT support.

  • Basic IT Knowledge: Some familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications (e.g., Outlook, Teams) and an understanding of IT principles, either from school, college, or personal experience.

  • Problem-Solving: A logical and methodical approach to troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients and team members professionally.

  • Customer Service: A proactive and friendly attitude towards helping clients with their IT issues, with a focus on delivering excellent service.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team and take direction from more experienced colleagues.

  • Organisation: Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively while balancing learning commitments and practical work.

Apprenticeship Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to enrol in an IT Level 3 Apprenticeship programme.

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths, and IT are preferred, but a passion for IT and problem-solving is most important.

  • Must be committed to completing the apprenticeship training and assessments alongside the practical role.

Entry Requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject

  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)

  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
