Description
At the Green Door Nursery we work in accordance with best practice to provide an environment in which children feel secure and loved, enjoying all the wonderful things childhood brings; fun, laughter, learning, caring about others and making friends.
Some of your daily roles as an early years apprentice may include:
- Contribute to good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness in the nursery
- To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as may be determined by the trainee’s supervisor from time-to-time
- The trainee’s duties must at all times be carried out in compliance with Inclusion policy
- Look upon the nursery as a "whole" where can you help be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of children
- To ensure provision of a high-quality environment meeting needs of individual children
- To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communications with parents/carers to
- facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs
- To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold its standards at all times
- To be aware of all emergency and fire evacuation procedures
- To understand, as part of training, you will be required to work in all areas of the nursery
- Observe health and safety procedures and work safely at all times;
- To be responsible for your own continuing self-development, undertaking training as appropriate to the working environment and location, and developments in your role;
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact;
- To attend out of working hours activities, e.g. training and staff meetings
Rate of pay up to £11.50 per hour (£22,725 per annum)
The positions are available with an immediate start working up to a maximum of 38 hours per week.

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. The Green Door Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day
If successful, you will complete a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship programme, which includes;
- Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
- Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification
- Functional skills in Maths and English if
required
Your training will be delivered through the Green Door Nursery's dedicated training provider, Realise
