"I wanted to start an apprenticeship as I believe
it's the best way to start in engineering, I particularly liked Parker Meggitt
as it's within the Aerospace industry - which has its own challenges that you
wouldn't see within other industries. The other benefits of Parker Meggitt
included the location as we have moved to a brand new state of the art
facility have completed the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Advanced Manufacturing
& Engineering. The first year of my apprenticeship I completed at my
training provider AMTC. My training at AMTC was immensely fun, we covered a
range of theoretical and practical learning including engineering drawing,
milling, assembly and business improvement techniques, but by far my favourite
practical subject was turning, where we followed drawings to create different
parts on a lathe. My best tips for anyone who wants to join the programme is to
show passion for learning engineering related subjects, and do lots of research

"Apprenticeship
at Parker Meggitt is an amazing opportunity! I am always learning something new
and meeting new people within my working scope or in the wider business. I am
surrounded by very supportive and understanding who are willing to help me at

bases which means I get to move around different financial functions within the
business, this allows me to experience and understand different financial
processes. I am able to learn and develop new skills with accounting software’s
