Description
Cliff House Day Nursery are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join their team.
On a day-to-day basis, you should expect to:
•Keep a record of the children’s progress to share with parents and other carers
•Build and maintain relationships with parents and other carers to facilitate the daily learning and care of the children
•Provide support to other nursery staff members
•Working with your colleagues, create an environment that meets the needs of the children by considering their cultural and medical needs
•Advise the Nursery Manager about concerns relating to a child or parent while respecting confidentiality requirements
•Adhere to the nursery’s policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements relating to childcare
•Maintain high standards for safety, cleanliness and hygiene
•Create fun and educational activities for the children under your care
•Complete any assignments/activities set by your training provider in a timely manner.
•Seek advice and support whenever you need it, either for assignments or for help with your childcare practice.
•Work alongside your colleagues to meet the children’s needs in a patient, kind, caring and appropriate manner.
•Ensure resources and the nursery environment is kept in good order, clean, and any issues (e.g. broken equipment) are brought to the attention of the manager immediately.
•You are expected to take part in the nappy changing and cleaning rota as required.

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Cliff House Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
This will be delivered through Cliff House Nursery's dedicated training provider, Realise.

Patience and a sense of humour, as well as an interest in Early Years education.
Permanent Position with Cliff House Nursery, with opportunities for further training and career advancement.
The nursery is accessible via the No 14 Bus Route, as well as the bus service that runs along Ribbleton Avenue. On site parking is available. Completion of a clear DBS is essential.
