Description

HGV Technician Apprentice

Salary: £22,048 per annum plus Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Location: Veolia Westlinks, Alperton Lane, Wembley, London HA0 1ER

Programme Duration: Up to 36 months


Candidate shortlisting will take place during the week commencing 17th - 24th March, with assessment days scheduled between the week commencing 31st March - 7th April.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out inspections and maintenance on various HGV vehicles, primarily refuse collection vehicles, to DVSA standards
  • Servicing vehicles in line with OEM recommendations
  • Conducting diagnostics on a variety of systems to accurately identify faults before repair
  • Ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly and meets legal compliance

Throughout the programme, apprentices will develop practical and behavioural skills while gaining the technical and professional knowledge required for success in the field.


Participants will work towards a Level 3 Certificate in HGV Maintenance, a Level 3 NVQ (Competency) in Maintenance, and a Working Safely (H&S) Certificate.


With many of Veolia’s team members having started as apprentices, full support and guidance will be provided throughout the programme. By its completion, apprentices will have received industry-standard training and attained qualifications that enable further career progression.
