Description

Individuals will be expected to build their project management experience by working in a variety of Project and Programme settings, supported by local mentors and a defined work plan. As skills develop, individuals will start to manage small projects. No day is the same in project management and you could be updating a project plan, helping a Project Manager to prepare for a Project Board meeting and checking in with individuals to see how activities on the project are progressing.

You will be managed by a line manager and have a mentor to offer further support. In addition to the formal training with a registered training provider, you will also have in house and on the job training.

As our Project Manager Level 4 Apprentice, the key duties are:

  • Undertake and successfully complete the training course throughout the duration of the apprenticeship ensuring requirements are met.
  • Be able to demonstrate the skills learnt as the training period progresses by working independently or with a team, undertaking tasks as instructed and undertake more complex project work.
  • Maintain a logbook and portfolio over the duration of the apprenticeship recording projects that have been undertaken to demonstrate the learning completed.
  • Support project delivery at the Met Office from day 1 with responsibility increasing gradually over the 18-month period.

Hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A* - C (9-4) or equivalent including English and Maths at grade B/C (5) or above.

You will attend Exeter College 1 day per week to work towards your Associate Project Manager Level 4 Apprenticeship.

Whilst this is a temporary position for up to 23 months, there is potential for it to develop into a permanent position on successful completion of your apprenticeship.

As our Project Manager Level 4 Apprentice, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home.?This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.
