Overview:

Reporting to the Partnership, PR and Communications Lead this role will support Reach & Engagement in creating, managing, and analysing social media content for all our system channels.

This role provides a valuable opportunity to develop digital marketing skills and gain hands-on experience in a fast-moving public sector environment, contributing to impactful campaigns that engage diverse audiences and promote Innovate UK Business Connect’s initiatives and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of social media campaigns across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Assist in the creation of engaging content, including posts, graphics, videos, and stories, that align with our goals and target audiences.
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and engage with followers in a professional and consistent manner.
  • Track, analyse, and report on social media performance using analytics tools, identifying key metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Support the wider Reach & Engagement team with administrative tasks, including scheduling social posts, maintaining social media calendars, and support the curation of a content library.
  • Collaborate with different teams to gather relevant information and develop content that highlights the organisation's achievements, events, and services.
  • Assist with delivering paid social media campaigns and advertising as required.

Desirable skills:

  • Education, internship, or volunteering work in a communications or marketing environment.
  • Basic understanding of social media analytics tools e.g. LinkedIn Analytics and how to interpret data to improve performance.
  • Knowledge of paid social media advertising and campaign management.
  • Experience of content scheduling tools such as Hootsuite.
  • An interest or background in public sector communications or community engagement.
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, showing flexibility and a willingness to learn.
  • A proactive and creative approach to tasks, demonstrating enthusiasm for generating and developing new ideas.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messages for different audiences.
  • Microsoft Office skills in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

In addition, the following experience would be beneficial:

  • Basic knowledge of major social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok Instagram).
  • Some administration experience OR criteria agreed with Apprenticeship provider.
  • Experience of building effective relationships.

Salary: £23,000 per annum

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch
