Internal Auditor Apprenticeship - Level 4

This apprenticeship will involve joining the internal audit team at AWE for a period of 6–12 months. The internal audit role focuses on delivering internal audits and third-line assurance to the AWE CEO and Audit Committee. Internal audits are conducted following an audit methodology and using an audit management system developed by the Government Internal Audit Agency, which aligns with Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS).

The team is based on the Aldermaston site and operates through a mix of office-based, onsite, and home working.

The Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors supports a number of apprenticeship levels relevant to this role.

Those successful at testing will be invited to a virtual assessment centre. The Assessment Centres are scheduled for 27th January 2026 and 3rd February 2026. Please note that these dates may be subject to change, but rest assured, AWE will keep all applicants informed throughout the process.
